Higuchi Sparkles, Blanks Grand Forks Monday, August 10th, 2037 In an outstanding mound performance, Cape Coral Reefers starter Kazuhiko Higuchi fired a complete-game shutout against the Grand Forks Caterpillars at The Cocoon today. Higuchi was the key to the Reefers's 5-0 win. The 23-year-old right-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 1 hit and no walks he allowed. "1 hit?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout." This season Higuchi has compiled a 6-1 mark with a 2.23 ERA.
