1837 BBC Lose to Dirty Reds, 5-3
|
It was a fun time at Lang Park, where the Houston 1837 BBC and San Mateo Dirty Reds tangled.
The Dirty Reds grabbed a win, 5-3, at Lang Park, overcoming a fine effort from Houston pitcher Nicolas Roche. Roche went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. San Mateo reliever Anastasio Cabanillas Jr. was the winner. His record is now 4-3. The losing pitcher was Nicolas Roche. Ignacio Ayala was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 6 save opportunities.
The Dirty Reds got a lift from shortstop Daniel Maldonado who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth inning off Nicolas Roche. It was his 8th RBI of the season and put San Mateo in front, 2-1.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Maldonado told the San Mateo Citizen.
San Mateo has now won 3 straight, while the 1837 BBC have lost 3 in a row.
