Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids starter Miguel Rubia was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Buckhead Bowties, 3-2. Brewster Warble picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 7-2. Yajirobei Otomo was tagged with the loss. Northern Virginia is now 56-26, 7 games up in the Silver League.
Owen Sharts hit a run-scoring double off Yajirobei Otomo in the bottom of the tenth, which put the Rainbow Mermaids in front, 3-2. In addition to the double, Sharts had 2 singles, while going 3 for 5.
Rubia said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
