The Houston 1837 BBC knocked off the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 3-1, at Great Northern Field. Krystof Melichar, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Houston won. The shortstop went 3-5 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Picking up the save was Darweshi Hadiya, his 5th. The 7th-place 1837 BBC improved to 36-44.

Houston took a 3-1 lead on Melichar's 6th home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Alejandro Guerra in the top of the seventh, propelled Houston to the win.
