Dirty Reds Solve Northern Lions BC, 5-2
|
It was a fun time at Lang Park, where the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC and San Mateo Dirty Reds tangled.
San Mateo Dirty Reds starter Tom McKee was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 5-2. San Mateo reliever Ignacio Ayala got the win, raising his record to 3-1. Jesús Vidro was tagged with the loss. José Barquero got the save, the 2nd for him this season.
The Dirty Reds grabbed the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out, Paul Tate hit a 2-run home run off Jefferson Suhendro, putting San Mateo in front, 5-2. For Tate, it was his 6th home run of the season.
"We played hard and won," said McKee. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
San Mateo now owns a record of 32-33.
