Northern Lions BC Raise Rally Flag, Beat Buckhead, 5-4
|
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC grabbed a 5-4 win over the Buckhead Bowties at 5 Paces Park. Thunder Bay third baseman Charles Josse was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles to earn player of the game honors. Thunder Bay reliever Walt Coffman was the winner. His record is now 2-5. The losing pitcher was Rick Converse. Alejandro Guerra earned the save, his 4th, for the Northern Lions BC.
It could have been a different outcome for Thunder Bay, had it not been for Sébastien Cornu, the 2036 SL home run champion . Cornu contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Thunder Bay up, 5-4.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Josse said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
Thunder Bay is now 31-31.
