Whales Hammered by Franke, Drop Game 5 to Hops

The Yakima Hops moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Virginia Beach Whales on the road at Virginia Beach Grounds by a score of 21-3. Hops second baseman Sebastian Franke was named player of the game after he was 2-3 with 2 home runs and 3 walks, while scoring 4 times and driving in 6. The win gives the Hops a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-5 SL AA Championship.
In the top of the first, Franke pounced on a 0-1 knuckle curve from Manuel Ruíz and hit a 3-run home run. It put Yakima on top, 3-0.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Franke.
