The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids are one game away from a sweep after a 7-3 win over the visiting Boston Patriots at Atlantica today. Rainbow Mermaids right-hander Chris Holland was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings allowing 3 runs. Northern Virginia now holds a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2038.

With two out in the bottom of the third, Felix Plugge barreled up a fastball from Jaganmani Vivek. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Rainbow Mermaids in front, 6-2.

"We don't have much margin for error now," Patriots manager Tyler Carter said. "We need to figure out the problem and fix it, immediately."

Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow at Atlantica in Hampton. The scheduled starters for the game are Juan Sánchez for the Boston Patriots and Maxime Janssens for the the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids.
