Degré Blasts Beavers, Warheads Take Game 2, 5-2
|
With right fielder Tippi Degré leading the charge, the Amarillo Warheads got a road win over the Northwest Territory Beavers, 5-2, in Game 2 of the 3L R Championship today. Degré was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs at Beaver Town to help Amarillo force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.
Amarillo used the bat of António Hierro to get the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Warheads ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Degré told the Amarillo News.
The next game is scheduled for Sunday, September 13th, 2037. Slated to start are Shan-bo Kang for Northwest Territory and Jack Walker for Amarillo.
