South Beach Breaks Through for First Win in PL A Championship; Now Trails 2-1
The South Beach Blaze have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Caldwell Chiefs, winning 9-2 at The Ballpark on the Beach today. Blaze right fielder Frans van Dalen was named player of the game after he was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The win cuts the deficit facing the Blaze to 2-1 in the best-of-5 PL A Championship.

van Dalen delivered in the bottom of the second inning for South Beach. With the game tied and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the right fielder hit a 2-run single to center.

"It feels good to get this one," van Dalen told the South Beach News.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow in South Beach. Slated to start are Lloyd Stinson for the Caldwell Chiefs and Peer Slooters for the the South Beach Blaze.
