Road Win Lifts Indianapolis to 1-0 Lead in R1
|
The Indianapolis Racers started the 3L AAA Championship in style today, winning on the road against the Tortolita Drummers at Drummers Ballpark by a score of 7-1 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Racers right-hander Ignacio Uribe was named player of the game after he threw 6 innings of shutout ball.
Uribe, a native of Managua, Nicaragua, was dealing all game. He kept Tortolita hitters off-balance, while giving the Racers 6.1 quality innings. Uribe threw 96 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 3.
"It feels good to get this one," Uribe told the Indianapolis Gazette.
Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow in Tortolita. The scheduled starters for the game are Juan Vias for Indianapolis and Scott Thompson for Tortolita.
