Pivotal Game Goes to Host Oaks, 8-5
|
Cleveland catcher Galtero Suárez pounded Oakland Oaks pitchers at Oakland Coliseum, but it was not enough to keep the Browns from falling, 8-5 in Game of the Silver League Championship. Suárez was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 and was named player of the game for his efforts, even as he saw the Browns slip to a - deficit in the best-of- series.
Gabriel Montoya, who is tied for 10th in the SL in home runs with 16, aided the Oakland cause with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the designated hitter drove in one run.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Montoya said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
