Si, Oaks Sink Bowties Again in Game
|
The Oakland Oaks moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Buckhead Bowties on the road at 5 Paces Park by a score of 5-4. Oaks third baseman Yu-zeng Si was named player of the game after he hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The win gives the Oaks a - advantage in the best-of- Silver League Championship.
Had Si not come through in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Si hit a 2-run home run. The Oaks never looked back after taking the 5-4 lead.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Si said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
