Warheads Best Elephants in Pitching Duel
|
It was a fun time at Ballpark of Henderson, where the Gibtown Elephants and Amarillo Warheads tangled.
Amarillo got a first-rate effort from pitcher Jack Walker, who frustrated Gibtown hitters en route to a 2-1 Warheads triumph at Ballpark of Henderson. Amarillo now sits in second place in the Menard's R at 54-36.
Had Norihisa Kino not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Kino hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Warheads.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Warheads manager Javier Trujillo, "I like our chances."
