The Hicksville Hounds got a superb performance from pitcher David Schrattenthaler, but the Sheridan Deer still won the game, 2-1. Schrattenthaler was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings allowing 2 runs. The Deer, at 44-36, sit in 5th place in the Menard's R.
Sheridan shortstop Alfonso López made his contribution to the Deer cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third inning. For the day, López went 1-3.
"We did just enough to win," López said.
