Harbor Whales Drop Another One
|
The Hicksville Hounds topped the Greenport Harbor Whales by the score of 7-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to third baseman Hiroshige Yamada. Yamada went 3-5 with 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Hounds on the day. The winner was Emilio Linger, who threw 88 pitches over 5 innings. The left-hander was charged with 3 runs on 6 hits. The Hounds, at 32-45, have now won 4 straight.
With Hicksville leading 4-3 in the top of the fifth, Yamada hit a 2-run double off Greenport hurler Alfredo Molina. It was the 3rd double of the season for Yamada and put his team ahead, 6-3.
