Late Rally by Warheads Secures Win
|
The Germantown Uruguayans got a superb performance from pitcher Wilson Molina, but the Amarillo Warheads still won the game, 4-2. Molina was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings allowing 2 runs. Lester Broughton sewed up the save, his 3rd. The Warheads, at 45-30, have now won 4 straight.
Amarillo used the clutch hitting of Tippi Degré to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Warheads the lead, 3-2. For the game, Degré had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"This is a very good team," said Degré. "We have the chance to do something special."
