Victory Over Fire Takes Amarillo to 61-33
|
The Amarillo Submarinos faced a tough opponent in Franklin pitcher Tim Wallace, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Terriers Ballpark by a final score of 7-4. Wallace went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Amarillo reliever Kelvin Bowen picked up the win, upping his record to 3-3. Aubrey Swanson was saddled with the loss. Ramón Tassis closed the game out for Amarillo, earning his 3rd save.
Ed Tinker hit a 2-run double off Aubrey Swanson in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Submarinos in front, 6-4. In addition to the double, Tinker had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Tinker told reporters after the game.
Amarillo improves to 61-33 with the win. They lead their division by 6 games.
