Otters Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Fire
|
Franklin got a terrific performance from pitcher Napoleon Vitagliano, but it wasn't enough to beat the Tulsa Otters. Tulsa won the Lawmen Ballpark contest, 7-3. Vitagliano was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. The win was José Guerrero's in relief. His record improves to 5-2. José Rivera took the loss for Franklin. Today's win puts Tulsa at 37-51, while Franklin falls to 26-62.
Tulsa used the timely hitting of Albert Porter to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Otters on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Porter.
