Ellesmere Island Snowpeople starter Pancho Covarrubias was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Quebec City Baby Blues, 5-2. In 6.1 innings, Covarrubias surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 11 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Fernando Gonzáles earned the save for Ellesmere Island, his 9th of the year.
The result might have been different for Ellesmere Island, had it not been for César Enríques. The third baseman produced a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Snowpeople ahead, 3-1. For the game, Enríques had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
