Biscuits Win Again, Streak Now at 13
|
The Montgomery Biscuits defeated the Ballard Beavers, 5-2, in USSL Rookie action at Field of the Sunchasers, with Montgomery pitcher Toshinobu Nakamura named player of the game. Chao Khu got credit for the save for Montgomery. It was his 22nd of the year. The winning continues for Montgomery, with the latest making it 13 straight.
Montgomery needed the clutch hitting of Rodney McClellan to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Biscuits on top, 3-0. For the game, McClellan had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Montgomery manager Félix Cruz.
