Biscuits Win Again, Extend Streak to 11
|
Montgomery beat Moose Jaw at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Steve Perkins, who earned player of the game honors. The winning pitcher was Perkins, now 8-2. He tossed 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. Chao Khu earned the save, his 21st.
Roy Osmond had a big run-scoring single for the Biscuits in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Montgomery leading 2-1 and a runner on 3rd, he got a splitter from Maximiano Agostinho and stroked the single to left. It was his 77th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Biscuits ahead, 3-1.
"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Montgomery manager Félix Cruz.
The third-place Biscuits have won 11 straight games.
