Ellesmere Island Snowpeople starter Norberto Huerta was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Ballard Beavers, 4-3. The winner was Foster Lang in relief. His record improves to 4-4. John Duimelaar took the loss. With the win over Ballard, the Snowpeople improved to 37-43.
The result might have been different for Ellesmere Island, had it not been for César Enríques. The third baseman produced a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put the Snowpeople ahead, 4-3. For the game, Enríques had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"Enjoyed this one," Enríques told the Ellesmere Island Bulletin. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
