Submarinos Best Interns in Pitching Duel
The Submarinos had to overcome a fine performance from Capital Hill pitcher Moises Casabuena to grab a 2-1 win at Alouettes Ballpark. Casabuena allowed 2 earned runs over 6.1 innings. Amarillo reliever Mutu Kirra picked up the win, bumping his record to 4-1. Moises Casabuena was collared with the loss. Earning his 6th save of the year was Jesús Bruno.

The Interns had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Submarinos going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old catcher Ed Tinker came to the plate. Tinker hit a 2-run home run on a first pitch fastball from Capital Hill hurler Moises Casabuena. It was Tinker's 6th home run of the year.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Amarillo manager Kenny Billings said.

The Submarinos own a robust 50-29 mark.
