Snowpeople Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
Ellesmere Island got an elite performance from starting pitcher Dave Becker in taking a 4-1 decision over the Moose Jaw Canucks. With the win over Moose Jaw, the Snowpeople improved to 34-39.
Ellesmere Island used the timely hitting of Richard Beagle to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Snowpeople on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
Beagle called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
