The Ellesmere Island Snowpeople and Tulsa Otters played an exciting game at Ballpark of Hughesville.
Ellesmere Island left-hander Norberto Huerta helped his team edge Tulsa by the score of 3-2. Huerta kept the opposing lineup in check. Huerta went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 4-7. The save was credited to Fernando Gonzáles, his 4th.
Ellesmere Island used the timely hitting of Silvio Capitanio to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Snowpeople on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Norberto is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Ellesmere Island manager Wallace James.
The 7th-place Snowpeople now have a win-loss record of 33-39.
