Fire Come Up Short at Ballard

The Ballard Beavers defeated the Franklin Fire, 4-3. Earning player of the game honors was second baseman Bang Aang, who was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 3 times. The save went to Chris Batt, his 2nd this season. The 4th-place Beavers improved to 39-30.
The Beavers got a big boost from designated hitter Stanley Bell who had a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the fifth inning off Fire hurler Freddy Howe. It was his 21st RBI of the season and put Ballard on top, 3-2.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Franklin manager Mark Davis.
