Late Rally by Beavers Secures Win
|
Gibtown right fielder Christian Payne was sensational. He went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Northwest Territory beat the Elephants, 8-6. Payne was named the player of the game despite the loss. The save went to Adam Durango, his 16th this season. At 39-24, the Beavers have a slim two-game lead in the Menard's R.
Northwest Territory took a 8-6 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, pinch hitter Blake Camden hit a 3-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Camden.
