Rhinos Pull Even With 5-1 Victory
|
Redwood Rhinos starter Carlos Guadarrama was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Germantown Uruguayans, 5-1. Guadarrama, now 3-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 14, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. Redwood currently is in 8th place in the Menard's R at 29-29.
Redwood took a 2-1 lead on Maxim Abeele's 58th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Abeele hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Germantown pitcher Wesley van Klaveren visibly frustrated.
In postgame comments to the Redwood Gazette, Abeele said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
