Warheads Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Uruguayans
|
Amarillo right-hander Alberto López made an effective start against the Germantown Uruguayans at Ballpark of Albuquerque, leading his team to a 8-3 win. Lester Broughton picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Kang-keun Yong was tagged with the loss. The save went to Benny Berry, his 2nd this season.
Amarillo used the timely hitting of Fernando Urby to capture the win. The third baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Warheads ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.
Urby told a Amarillo News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The Warheads improved to 17-10.
