Rainbow Mermaids Bang Out 9-3 Win Versus Houston
Houston Grounds was the site for United States Silver League action featuring the Houston 1837 BBC and Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids.

The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids defeated the Houston 1837 BBC, 9-3. Earning player of the game honors was shortstop Tony Calhoun, who was 3-5 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Ricardo García got credit for the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed 2 runs on 9 hits in 8 innings.

Calhoun had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 3rd in the top of the fifth inning, when he hit a run-scoring single. The Rainbow Mermaids went on to win.

"Enjoyed this one," Calhoun told the Northern Virginia Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
