bin Mahmud Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Amarillo in Walk-Off Win
|
Amarillo beat Hicksville at Ballpark of Henderson, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to center fielder Caspar Fewings, who earned player of the game honors. He was 4 for 4 with a triple and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs. The win gives Amarillo a record of 8-5.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 15th inning, when Amarillo first baseman Taysir bin Mahmud, facing Glenn van der Kuijl, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Warheads the 5-4 win.
"Big win," said bin Mahmud.
