Elephants Get Close Win Over Rhinos
|
Gibtown right-hander Rafael Ramos made an effective start against the Redwood Rhinos at The Zoo, leading his team to a 7-5 win. Gibtown reliever Adri van Huizen picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ramón Ramírez took the loss. Mauro Rangel got the save, the 1st for him this season.
Gibtown used the timely hitting of Mack Bray to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Elephants on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Enjoyed this one," Bray told the Gibtown Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
With the loss, Redwood is 1-3.
