Multi-HR Game for Esparza in 10-4 Win

Amarillo played host to Ballard at the friendly confines of Terriers Ballpark.
The Amarillo Submarinos defeated the Ballard Beavers, 10-4, at Terriers Ballpark today. Leading the charge for Amarillo was first baseman Jorge Esparza. He went 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5. Amarillo reliever Nelson Qudrio picked up the win, bumping his record to 6-0. Vas Atepko was collared with the loss. Jesús Bruno earned the save, his 3rd.
Ron Carlisle, who is tied for 6th in the SR with a .468 slugging percentage, helped out the Amarillo cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the shortstop was 2 for 5 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Carlisle.
Amarillo leads the Silver R by 2 games.
