The Amarillo Submarinos topped the Franklin Fire, 4-0, in USSL Rookie action at Terriers Ballpark. The player of the game was Amarillo pitcher and Plainfield, Illinois native Paul Love. Love, the winner, moves to 2-1. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up no walks. Jesús Bruno got the save, the 2nd for him this season.

Ed Tinker dealt the Fire a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Amarillo leading 1-0, Tinker, who is tied for 3rd in the SR in bases on balls with 24, hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring double.

"Enjoyed this one," Tinker told the Amarillo News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

The Submarinos have an impressive 34-20 record.
