Submarinos Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The Amarillo Submarinos powered past the Franklin Fire, 8-4, at Lawmen Ballpark. Colt Allen went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs, to lead the charge. Phil Steur got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. The Submarinos improved to a lofty 25-10.
Amarillo used the timely hitting of Si-xun Jin to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Submarinos on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Jin. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
