Getting a good performance from right fielder Juan Oleastro, the Quebec City Baby Blues defeated the Phoenix Hotspur Academy, 3-2. Oleastro went 4-4 with 4 singles, while adding 2 RBI for the Baby Blues. Quebec City reliever Mark Taylor picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Heath Brown shouldered the loss. Mike Park closed it out for his 7th save.
Oleastro had a game-changing single in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-1 cutter from Heath Brown, he banged a 2-run single to center, giving the Baby Blues a 3-2 lead. It was the 39th hit of the year for Oleastro.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Phoenix skipper Jack Clayton, "and it cost us."
The Baby Blues have an impressive 19-12 record.
