Interns Losing Streak at 9 After Extra-Inning Loss to Biscuits
|
The Montgomery Biscuits bested the Capital Hill Interns by a score of 5-4, with shortstop Jessie Merenda getting the main credit. On the day, Merenda was 4 for 6 with 4 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Biscuits. Montgomery reliever Chao Khu picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Sergio Rivas absorbed the loss. The win gives Montgomery a record of 5-5.
Merenda had a game-changing single in the bottom of the 11th. On a first pitch screwball from Sergio Rivas, he banged a run-scoring single to left, giving the Biscuits a 5-4 lead. It was the 9th hit of the year for Merenda.
"This place was jumping at the end," Merenda said.
