Submarinos Best Hotspur Academy in Pitching Duel
The Submarinos had to overcome a fine effort from Phoenix pitcher Rick Hubbard to grab a narrow 2-0 win at Ballpark of Fresno. Hubbard went 6 innings and allowed no earned runs. Amarillo reliever António Raccuia picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Teika Suto shouldered the loss. Danny Stam was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.

Amarillo used the timely hitting of Adam Cunningham to capture the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Submarinos on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Cunningham, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."

The win gives the Submarinos a record of 3-1.
