Submarinos Walk Off with 3-2 Win
|
Amarillo Submarinos starter José Goytia turned in a sterling performance against the Montgomery Biscuits, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Danny Stam picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Hisanobu Yamashita was tagged with the loss. The Submarinos, now 2-1, have played some good baseball in the early going.
Colt Allen was the walk-off hero for Amarillo. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Submarinos center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Allen said.
