The San Mateo Dirty Reds topped the Houston 1837 BBC, 5-3, in United States Silver League action at Houston Grounds. The player of the game was San Mateo third baseman Hugh Mungus. Ignacio Ayala earned the save for San Mateo, his 1st of the year. The 5th-place Dirty Reds improved to 14-13.

Mungus contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for San Mateo in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Mungus took a curveball from Miguel Rubia and stroked the home run to left. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Dirty Reds to leap in front, 4-2.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Mungus.
