Revolution Fall to .500 After Loss to Gold Sox
|
The Chicago Gold Sox took York pitcher Gerhard Karge's best shot and still were able to claim a win at York Park. The final score had Chicago getting past the Revolution, 2-0. Karge went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 5. Héctor Cantú went 5 innings for Chicago to pick up the win. The left-hander was charged with no earned runs. He scattered 8 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 4. His record improves to 8-3. Earning his 12th save of the year was Kini Grinter.
Chicago took a 2-0 lead on Shiki Yamamoto's 13th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Yamamoto hit in the top of the seventh, left York pitcher Marcus Morgan visibly frustrated.
Yamamoto told a Chicago Today reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The Gold Sox, at 39-41, sit in 6th place in the Premier A.
