Galesburg second baseman Brock Waxley had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Waxley was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, even as South Beach beat the Guzzlers, 3-2. Waxley was named the player of the game despite the loss. Ryan Fry finished to wrap up his 9th save. The Guzzlers, now 26-53, have lost 4 straight.
South Beach used the timely hitting of Rovilson Rosete to capture the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Blaze on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but he made it count.
"We take it day by day here," said Rosete, "and today was a good one for us."
