Guzzlers Lose Again, 4-2, to Blaze
|
South Beach Blaze starter Rio Dring turned in an exceptional performance against the Galesburg Guzzlers at The Ballpark on the Beach, resulting in a South Beach win, 4-2. Dring, now 7-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. Bing-zhong Qiu was called on to finish, recording his 5th save.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Bing-zhong Qiu didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Galesburg trailing 4-2, Qiu retired Klaas Westerduin to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Qiu, with a wink.
The losing streak for Galesburg has now reached 9 games.
