Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Sébastien Cornu, the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC defeated the Houston 1837 BBC, 8-7. Cornu went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while adding 8 RBI and scoring twice for the Northern Lions BC. The loss lowers the Houston record to 6-11.

Cornu had a game-changing double in the bottom of the ninth. On a first pitch cutter from José Ledezma, he banged a 2-run double to right, giving the Northern Lions BC a 8-7 lead. It was the 1st double of the year for Cornu.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Cornu told reporters after the game.
