Gold Sox Bang Out 6-2 Win Versus Walla Walla
|
The Chicago Gold Sox picked up a win at Walleye Tank, knocking off the Walla Walla Walleye, 6-2. Starting pitcher Kini Grinter played a key role in the triumph. Grinter, now 2-1, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. The Gold Sox go to 18-19, putting them 7th in the Premier A.
Chicago used the timely hitting of Juan Ocasio to capture the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Gold Sox on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"Kini is still learning," said Gold Sox manager Craig Sunter. "The sky's the limit for him."
