Rocky Mountain Vibes starter Rodrigo Alarcon turned in a top-notch performance against the Galesburg Guzzlers at Galesburg Field. The result was a win for the Vibes, 2-1. Alarcon, now 3-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 9, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. José Díaz finished to wrap up his 10th save.
It could have been a different outcome for Rocky Mountain, had it not been for José Ayala, the 22-year old right fielder . Ayala contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Rocky Mountain up, 2-1.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Galesburg manager Javier González.
The last-place Guzzlers have lost 5 consecutive games.
