Bowties Lose to Divided, 3-2
|
D.C. rode a fine outing from starter Hengkie Iriawan to victory over the Buckhead Bowties at Washington Stadium. The final score was 3-2. Roberto Silva was credited with the save for D.C., his 1st of the season. The win brings the Divided to 6-11, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
The Bowties had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Divided going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 32-year old right fielder Stanley Belote came to the plate. Belote hit a run-scoring single on a first pitch changeup from Buckhead hurler Tim Sharp. It was Belote's 11th hit of the year.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Belote told the D.C. Today.
