Oakland played host to Northern Virginia at the friendly confines of Oakland Coliseum.

Northern Virginia got a terrific game from shortstop Tony Calhoun. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Oakland, 7-5. Calhoun was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 4 for 5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Paco Garza, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 2.2 innings. Carlos Rodríguez earned the save, his 2nd.

Yehonatan Chazan went 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Oakland. The 30-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Henry Henry. It was his 14th RBI of the season.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Chazan. "And not try to do too much."

The Oaks keep rolling, raising their record to 10-6.
