Blaze Raise Rally Flag, Beat York, 5-2

The York Revolution got a superb performance from pitcher David Flowers, but the South Beach Blaze still won the game, 5-2. Flowers was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball. It was the 11th win in 17 games this year for the defending champion Blaze, who are picking up where they left off.
South Beach used the timely hitting of Carlos Miranda to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blaze ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.
Miranda told a South Beach News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
